Genital herpes is a disease caused from Herpes simplex. It is a widespread sexually trasnsmitted disease that is not curable.

The Herpes viruses operates in cycles, of periods lasiting 1-21 days, followed by a remission period where the physical signs of the disease disappear. Genital herpes is however asymptomatic and will return again. Viral shedding will occur even after this period.

Up still today, the reasons for it to occur again are still unknown. However, there are some triggers which have been shown to provide a lower level of frequency. Herpes simplex is transmitted from one partner to another through bodily contact with flulids or through a lension. Though the use of condoms may help prevent this transmission, it is not a 100% safe method.

There is still no cure for the herpes viruses in the world, nor there is a vaccine to kill the viruses. However, there are several vaccines which are effectively in certain stages of the disease. These treatments help reduce the viral reproduction and shedding. This is done through the prevention of the disease through the skin and help lessen the degree of symptomatic comebacks.

The effects of herpes disease on the society is profound and can be felt through all levels of society. Often the infected are inflicted with permanent physcological pain and lead withdrawn lives.
